It has been identified by the Australian Institute of Sport that less than half of Australian children participate in organised community sports, leading to concerns about health and inclusivity (SDG 3 and 10).
Objectives:
This focus is to increase children’s participation in sports and promote inclusivity.
Proposed Solution:
Design a modified version of Laser Tag that is inclusive and accessible.
What we did and how we did it?
We found that many children enjoy games like laser tag. We focused on a sport that was popular, more people will play it. It provides a high level of cardiovascular activity, making it an excellent choice.
1. We researched a popular game
2. We made rules to make the game safe, and to avoid conflict between teams.
3. We devised a training routine and diet to support the players within the game to avoid injury
We used Stop-motion Pro App and Cap Cut software for the video.
From creating the game, we discovered that it would encourage great teamwork as it is popular. We also discovered some limitations, including being costly and concerns of people becoming too aggressive within the game, so rules have been designed to support this.
From this project we discovered that by people participating in Modified Laser Tag, students’ health and wellbeing (SDG 3) and equal access to sports (SDG 10) will increase due to people enjoy teamwork games, increase fitness in both endurance and short distance and brings people together.
