Eco High-Rise City – The Eco-sphere
Maria John Suguru John, year 12, Zorica Petrovich
This project is an eco-friendly high-rise city model with a foresight into the challenges thrown by urbanization. It aims at integrating renewable energy, waste management, and eco-sensitive architecture for a sustainable urban ambience with reduced carbon emission, enhancing the quality of life for its inhabitants.
This eco-high-rise city model was developed by combining the different steps of research, 3D modelling, and implementation of sustainable design. I used Blender to create a 3D concept model of what one of the high-rise buildings could look like and Adobe Premiere Pro to edit the video. I researched online articles and case studies regarding renewable energy systems and sustainable cities in order to enlighten my design.
The entire project shows how a city can sustain itself once renewable energy, a waste management system, and green areas start coming into the process. While some design features are necessarily limited by the scale, several of these ideas for sustainable urban design could be practically applied using the model.
This project shows how green city planning can help reduce emissions and improve urban resilience. It taught the value of sustainable design in the context of urban environmental problems and provided experience in 3D modelling and applying renewable technologies.
