Study Buddy

My application, Study Buddy, aimed to be a hub that students use to collate resources and manage their time to efficiently study. My name is Pumindu Dias and I am a Year 10 student at James Ruse Agricultural High School. My teacher is Eve Chen. As a student, I found that no existing productivity application had the simplicity but also functionality I needed so I aimed to solve this problem. I used Electron.Js which is a framework that allowed me to produce a desktop application using HTML, CSS and Javascript. The coding was done in Visual Studio Code. My application had a single user interface with all the things a user would need on a single page. My app had features like a timer, reminders, hotlinks, calendar and a resource hub. It also featured a highly customisable user interface allowing the user to have control. The project’s main limitation was that the resource hub feature should have been organised better through the addition of grouping or folders as opposed to a list of links however, my initial requirements were still met making the application an overall success. Overall, Study Buddy is an application that suits its purpose giving users everything that a student would need in an easy to access way. During this project, I learnt how to set up things like persistent storage and I also learnt a lot about optimising code and using Javascript for backend development.
