“Polysorcery” is a two-dimensional roguelike fantasy game that aims to incorporate fantastical themes of magic and spellcasting into a modern artstyle. It is built for Windows and MacOS using the Unity Engine. The game’s core focus is customisation and creativity in spell combos and strategies to defeat the hordes of enemies. The game will be formatted into multiple “rounds”, each of where you can equip a loadout that you can upgrade within the round. The round will end after you get defeated, however you can quickly enter a new round with a new loadout or strategy. The game’s primary target audience is teenage people, around high school age (12-17), and aims to be a simple, engaging, and slightly addictive experience for the players. The game will not be gender orientated due to its simplistic art style that appeals to all players. Customisation options will also be implemented to make the game inclusive to all types of players. The main user needs that this game will aim to fulfill are the following:
– A relaxing and fun gameplay loop that will allow players to quickly grasp the game’s fundamentals, yet still have challenges to face and a slow difficulty curve to conquer
– Non-violent and appropriate themes that can be enjoyed by all-ages
– A smooth and functional user experience
– Strategy and loadout customisation to create unique playstyles for each individual player.
