Introduction:
Fishing for Tomorrow is a game that merges entertainment with environmental action. Our goal is to promote sustainable fishing practices and ocean conservation by giving players a firsthand experience of balancing economic and environmental objectives.
Method and Technology Used:
The game includes two modes: Ocean Cleanup, where players collect and recycle ocean debris to fund conservation efforts, and Spear-Fishing, which emphasises responsible fishing by penalising over-harvesting and targeting endangered species. Developed using [mention game development tools and platforms], our approach combines engaging gameplay with educational pop-ups, offering players insights on marine ecosystems and the significance of sustainable choices. Collaborations with organisations like “Seven Clean Seas” reinforce the real-world impact of in-game actions.
Results:
Our tests showed increased player awareness of environmental impacts, though managing game complexity to suit different age groups presented challenges. The project successfully highlights key sustainability issues.
Conclusion:
Fishing for Tomorrow connects gaming with global impact, educating players on responsible fishing and conservation. Through this project, we learned that games can inspire change by linking virtual achievements to tangible environmental benefits.
